Of any casino game, poker is perhaps the best known for its exciting addition of psychology to the mix. Poker is definitely a mental game. Knowing this and how to make it work to your advantage will make your poker playing more effective. Perhaps you can try out your newly learning strategies by using free poker games offered by your favourite poker sites. When playing poker, there are some tell tale signs to observe about your player. This is often a reliable indicator as to whether or not they may be bluffing.
One of the first things you must do when assessing your opponent's actions is to determine if their actions are legitimate or if they are perhaps simple an act. When making this assessment, there are some signs to help you make your decision. Some players will have shaky hands which can indicate nervousness. This definitely is for real as this is something difficult to fake. If you observe shaky hands, more than likely the person is bluffing. Now, it helps to know your players before making this assessment. Some people typically have a nervous disposition. Their hands might shake often due to this rather than from bluffing. Observing your players for a few hands is always wise before making these types of assertions.
You might observe your opponent acting really laid back and extremely carefree, they may be trying too hard to get you to think they have a stellar poker hand. Usually this behaviour is an act. Don't fall victim to their trap. Also, you have players that suddenly become dramatic during the hand. This behaviour too can be construed as an act. These behaviours are especially concerning when they are not normal behaviour of the player. As with all of these assessments, you have to gauge the behaviour with what is typically normal of that individual person.
Changes in eye contact can also be indicators that your opponent could have a great hand or be bluffing. If a player typically makes eye contact with the players seated around the table and then in one hand does not, this should be a warning sign to you. On the other hand, the player who avoids eye contact and suddenly stares is also showing an extreme change in behaviour which can be indicative of the hand they possess.
