With version 3.10, the first update is available for the award winning hard disk management and data protection software, Hard Disk Sentinel since it reached its 3rd generation. Hard Disk Sentinel Professional offers advanced data protection solution by monitoring temperature and health status of hard disk drives and solid state disk drives and provides detailed disk information, statistics, graphs, alerts and backup functions.
Hard Disk Sentinel is unique in its support of a great number of both internal IDE/SATA/SCSI/SAS and external USB/Firewire/e-Sata hard disks and hard disk enclosures (see website Hardware section for details).
This trend continues with version 3.10 and now it detects full disk information about dual hard disk enclosures connected to the USB line, for example WD MyBook Premium 2 and SilverStone DS221.
Hard Disk Sentinel 3.10 has improved hardware support and increased compatibility with different hard disk controllers, for example with Promise and ITE models. Now Hard Disk Sentinel is able to monitor up to 100 hard disk in a single system. It is possible to utilize hard disks configured as RAID/JBOD arrays on various RAID controllers like 3ware/AMCC, Areca, HighPoint - or when software RAID is used.
Since version 3.10 it is also possible to configure e-mail sending over SSL protocol to ensure maximum security in sending e-mail alerts, daily status messages and allows the user to configure e-mail accounts requiring SSL authentication, for example a gmail.com account.
Hard Disk Sentinel has improved user interface, especially in Windows 7 environments.
Hard Disk Sentinel warns about possible temperature and hardware problems and allows the user to take necessary actions. The PRO version has scheduled backup features to prevent data loss caused by not only disk failures but also accidental delete or malware.
Hard Disk Sentinel Enterprise package allows monitoring and managing disk information of remote hosts from a centralized administration console. Free trial is available of the most recent Enterprise Server package, inquiries welcome.
